Suppose a man
To be born,
Both deaf and blind;:

By the very witness
Of his spirit,
He apprehends
The Infinite about him;
And within him:
Infinite reach;
Infinite intensity;
He thinks not
Of walls and limits;
Until he feels them,
And is stopped by them.

That things are finite,
We learn
By our senses;
Infinity we know,
Deep in our spirit,
And feel it
So naturally;
As if it were,
The very essence
Of all life,
And being.
